and Early Intervention Specialist throughout Idaho. In 1994 she was able to merge her love of horses with her knowledge of disabilities when she and a friend founded Whitewater Therapeutic and Recreational Riding Association in Salmon, Idaho.
Joyce is an Advanced Therapeutic Riding Instructor.
She went back to school following graduation and earned her Master’s degree in Agricultural Education.
After graduation, she and her husband Jeff managed two different equine facilities and coached the MSU IHSA show team, as well as gave lessons, raised and trained horses, and operated a 4-H club for disadvantaged youth.
Upon moving back to Salmon in 2008, Katie became very involved at WTRRA and earned her Register Instructor status in the spring of 2011.
She served 6 years as a Trustee of the School Board for the Salmon School District.
She has also served as a board member for other community organizations.
